All proceeds from ticket sales for the event will be donated to Out on the Page, in support of upcoming projects to support the development of young writers, and Black, Asian and Global Majority writers from the LGBTQIA+ community.
‘A Celebration of Queer Storytelling’ welcomes an exciting panel of established, emerging and celebrated members of the LGBTQIA+ writing community, including award-winning Young Adult author Lisa Williamson (The Art of Being Normal, All About Mia); poet, playwright and education facilitator Gayathiri Kamalakanthan, and presenter and broadcaster Shivani Dave set to host and steer the panel discussion, with more to be announced over the coming weeks.
The evening will feature a compelling panel discussion, audience Q&A and a chance for attendees to share their own, most-treasured queer stories and characters, followed by a drinks reception.
All panellists have contributed to Audible and Out on the Page’s extensive Pride List of Queer Storytelling, a project which aims to encourage the UK to engage with, discover, and broaden their knowledge of LGBTQIA+ stories and authors.
From poems and novellas to memoirs and even speeches, the list features over 100 titles, hand-picked by 42 LGBTQIA+ writers and voices from a breadth of genres, accompanied by their compelling and insightful reasons for submitting each one.
