About the Event
Out on the Page has been supporting LGBTQ+ writers since 2018 and has run events, groups, workshops, courses and retreats, online and in-person. This chapbook, Out on the Page's first print publication, brings new queer writing, visual poetry and photography to a wider audience.
Join us for a evening of celebration and readings by authors from the chapbook. Hear the story of how the anthology came together, see examples of some of the great visual poetry and photography featured in the chapbook.Â
We wanted our first ever print publication to be something different. Through discussions with our production collaborators, The Modernist Society, we became interested in the optimism of modernism, that sense of emerging from adversity towards something better. The writers and artists here explore the spirit of Modernism through a multiplicity of queer lenses.
We've working with The Modernists Society's highly regarded small press and the book designer Dan Jackson to produce a high quality finish chapbook which we hope you will enjoy holding in your hand, looking at and reading. Â

This publication would not have been possible without the support of The Modernist Society, our Kickstarter backers, Inclusion Included, and Arts Council England.
