About the Event

This is the first in a short experimental series where we explore the issues most raised by our Members.

Our coordinator, Paul will lead the introductions before handing over to Jake and Nick who will introduce the subject and lead us into a discussion aimed at sharing information, experience and advice.

Jake Nicholls is a freelance fiction editor who helps authors to develop their stories and hone their writing craft. Having trained extensively with the Editorial Freelancers Association, Jake specialises in editing science fiction, fantasy and LGBTQIA+ fiction for both adult and young adult audiences. When they are not editing, Jake enjoys reading books of all genres, writing their own science fiction and watching TV shows that begin with the letter ‘B’. You can find Jake via their website Future Worlds Editing (futureworldsediting.co.uk), on Twitter (@JakeCNicholls), or contact them by email at jake@futureworldsediting.co.uk.

Nick Taylor is a freelance editor and proofreader who specialises in independent and self-publishing authors. He trained with the Writers Bureau and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (the CIEP). He works with writers to ensure that their manuscripts are clean and error free as well as being consistent, concise and clear. Outside of editing, Nick enjoys getting into the great outdoors as much as possible, usually by bike but occasionally he’ll take to the skies.

Nick’s website is www.JustWriteRight.co.uk or you can email him directly at Nick@JustWriteRight.co.uk.
