About the Event

Out on the Page is a catalyst for change; to connect, develop and promote LGBTQ+ writers and writing. 

We are funded by Arts Council England

Merseyside LGBTQ Creative Writing Group

" We are a group of local LGBTQ writers, who meet the third sunday of every month for facilitated workshops, and prepared writing read-aloud events.

This event is for LGBTQ+  writers at any stage of their writing journey and writitng in any genre or form.

The afternoon will be jointly facilitated by our Director, Paul Bradley, plus Garnet 'Ratte'Frost and Steve Benson from Merseyside LGBTQ Creative Writing Group. 

During a relaxed and friendly afternoon we will follow this running order.

Meet eachother, tell our writing stories in small groups

Ratte/Merseyside Group

Hour 1

In Remembrance: As the meeting is taking place between Remembrance Sunday, TDoR and World AIDS Day, • Ratte will provide several examples/stories of LGBTQI+ people from history from which we will write something inspired by this. People will have the option to read aloud their work.  

Break

Hour Two

Commemorating: writing exercises to commemorate and positively celebrate an aspect of being LGBTQI+. People will have the option to read aloud their work.

However, we know from experience that the greatest benefit comes from giving you time and space to chat and discuss writing with other LGBTQ+ writers.

After the event

Attendees also get free access to our online LGBTQ+ Writer Network Community for 2022. This is a safe and managed space on our own Slack platform and it's easy to use.
