Read it Out - Loud and Proud | £5/£2.50

Our Associate Facilitator, Jo Whalley will facilitate this relaxed and sharing event. A great chance to TRY OUT or SHOWCASE your writing and practise doing readings. You also get to experience the work of other emerging LGBTQ+ writers.

Jo will introduce each writer and invite them to read for up to 5 mins max. 

Though it is not a workshopping event Jo will encourage positive feedback verbally or in chat on what listeners particularly liked about each reading.The 'audience' will also be invited to provide feedback through the chat channel.

About Jo

Jo rekindled her passion for writing at the age of forty when as a volunteer radio producer for Gaydio she began by writing programme briefs. Her writing journey and journalistic approach continued with her radio play, the true story of a male rape survivor who contracted HIV in the 90s. Jo’s creative writing started with a flash fiction piece about Tinnitus which will be published in Commonword’s forthcoming anthology Indivisible. She likes working with artists and enjoys reformatting her writing to create new homes for her work. She also enjoys reading her work out at events.
