Ben (he/they) is a queer writer for stage and screen, based in Epping. He’s the artistic director of Flaming Theatre, an experienced theatre director, devisor and producer, and a senior reader for Theatre503. Their play Really Want to Hurt Me was shortlisted for the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence and toured the UK with support from Arts Council England and Soho Theatre’s Edinburgh Lab. Two other plays reached the top 10% for the Verity Bargate Award. Ben has completed the Criterion Theatre New Writing and Story Development Programmes. His production Jarman Garden was a finalist for the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award.
