Elizabeth Gibson

Elizabeth Gibson writes poetry and fiction inspired by nature, travel, body image and identity, as well as her experiences within the wonderful creative, women’s and LGBTQ+ communities in Manchester. Her work has been published in journals including Confingo, Popshot, Litro and Strix, and she has two poems in the Mancunian Ways anthology from Fly on the Wall Press. She won a Northern Writers’ Award in 2017 and was shortlisted for the Poetry Business’ New Poets Prize in 2018. She has performed at the LGBT Foundation, Manchester Literature Festival, The Poetry Café, and Walk for Women, for International Women’s Day 2020.

supporting emerging LGBTQ+ writers
Out on the Page was set up in 2018 as an experimental project to bring together LGBTQ+ writers to write, support each other and to share information and experience.
Since then, we have held one-writing retreats, workshops, groups and cafe casual meetings across England.  We have also set up an online writer directory and forum for emerging LGBTQ+ writers.
We have received Arts Council England funding for 2020 to sustain and develop our much-needed work, including online events.
