About the Event

About Out on the Page

Out on the Page is a UK based LGBTQ+ writer project that has been running since 2018 and has run over 250 events online and in-person. We already have connections to writers in over 50 countries.  In the past we have run several successful International Cafés. We recently attended and spoke at ILX24, an International Literature event supported by the National Centre for Writing (England) and the British Council.

About our International Network Café

This first event will be held in English, though we will open up breakout rooms in other languages based on the information we receive at booking.

It will be jointly hosted by Paul Bradley and Walter Meyer.

Following a recent review we have decided to solely focus on developing an international network of LGBTQ+ writers and supporting professionals.

First and foremonst this is a chance to meet other LGBTQ+ writers and related professionals across the world, but we also want to use this event to :

1. Identify literary activists who can help us develop this project.

2. Begin to connect LGBTQ+ writers and literary industry professionals

3. Decide on some next steps including seeking funding.

4. Find a name for our network.

5. Hear some readings from writers from around the world. We are aiming to do double readingswhere applicable,  i.e in the original language piece was written in , and English.

Want to do a Reading at this event?

You will be asked at the ticket booking stage and we will then be in touch with you separately. The work should be published online or in print in any language. We would aim for the reading to be in the original language and English - we can discuss the details of how we might do that.
