Ever thought of forming a collaboration with an artist as a potential outlet for your writing?

To mark this years TDOR (Trans Day of Remembrance), Associate Facilitator Jo Whalley chatted to writer Olivia Fisher and photographic artist Allie Crewe about their experience of collaborating and producing a book for the first time.

You Brought Your Own Light an initial series of 12 portraits were exhibited in Manchester in 2018 and sponsored by the National Transgender Charity Sparkle.

Allie’s portrait of Grace went on to win the BJP Portrait of Britain Awards in 2019.

With the support of Arts Council England Allie and Olivier went on to form an artist and writer collaboration to produce an art book of the same title.

We hope that these podcasts will encourage and inspire writers to explore other potential homes for their work with a focus on collaboration between artists and writers.

You Brought Your Own Light can be purchased frrom - https://www.allie-crewe.uk/youbroughtyourownlight from now until the end of November at a special price to Out On The Page members of £10 + £3 P&P. For every book purchased between now and the end of November Allie will donate £5 to Out On The Page which will help to fund bursaries to support emerging writers.
