Matthew Keeley

My debut sci-fi novel, Turning the Hourglass, was published in 2019 and my new coming-of-age #ownvoices novel The Stone in My Pocket will be published by The Conrad Press early 2021. I also write short stories (usually with a speculative, magical element) and arts reviews for award-winning online magazine The Wee Review. In 2019 I won the National Trust Scotland’s Morton Writing Competition for my short story ‘In Ma Heid’ and in November 2020 my piece ‘Clearing the Fog’ was chosen for inclusion in the Scottish Book Trust’s Book Week Scotland anthology, Future.

I have a linktree link that connects to my social media and various other sites where people can see my writing:

supporting emerging LGBTQ+ writers
Out on the Page was set up in 2018 as an experimental project to bring together LGBTQ+ writers to write, support each other and to share information and experience.
Since then, we have held one-writing retreats, workshops, groups and cafe casual meetings across England.  We have also set up an online writer directory and forum for emerging LGBTQ+ writers.
We have received Arts Council England funding for 2020 to sustain and develop our much-needed work, including online events.
